Included in the exhibit are botanical watercolors, some birds, and oil paintings that feature flowering trees, snowy fields at twilight, quiet ponds, and dirt ro opening out into vistas of far hills. One of the paintings is a 24 x 48 view of my home city of Montpelier as seen from a bridge crossing the Winooski River, the buildings and surrounding hills bathed in the glow of late afternoon winter light.
It has been a source of great comfort to me to be able to continue working despite the pandemic. In fact, my life hasn't changed dramatically on of the necessary isolation. It was a glorious --but chillyhour of composing a new landscape painting, absorbing the long views and stunning colors of a Vermont October.
